How she responds to me...

What would this chair be without Camilla? Probably less hairy, but then she is so beautiful in it--the dark and light patterns, the engaging positions. So I had to disturb her by taking photographs.

One eye open!

Oh, that creative agitation
...she was almost asleep here...
...then raised her head
when she first saw me
standing near the chair,
then squatting
with the camera to get a better angle...
...and started to get up, but changed her mind
with a kind of ho-hum indifference to my
repeated actions over time...
...sensing (no, knowing) that I would take a a bunch of photographs, pat her on the head and say something sweet, then leave.
Merciful quiet.
Now, once again, the crossed paws and composure
of a Buddhist philosopher
who has taken a vow of silence.
Me too, Camilla, starting now!
Another episode in the life of...soap opera cue now, cut to break.
I think Camilla and I know each other so well that it's all OK. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
