"Valentine Jingle" by Denee Barr!

Preparing for Valentine's Day. Camilla's first reaction to my dangling this paper heart "napkin" above her was a mixture of curiosity and disdain. She wanted a treat and this was just kind of wasting her time because a squirrel was nibbling on some bird seed on the ground just outside in the frozen yard. "What a bore!" But I--you know--persisted.

When I dropped the yarn an inch from her.
she took no interest at all.
"Come on!"

So I tried again...and she sniffed it.

...when it floated to her, that was it.
"This is too much!"

At this point, I turned the "getting ready" celebration over to the amazingly talented & versatile Denee Barr, who created this zesty, scat-like Valentine Jingle, especially for the blog! Immediately, Camilla perked up. You will too! Listen to this! Then listen again!

Now that you're fully awake, there are two more cool images to share with you. One from a recent project with ARC in Columbia. The clients each created a special Valentine. "Pucker UP!" was my favorite:

Finally, Thomas Satterthwaite from Cranston, Rhode Island, shared this intriguing design with me, and it says everything about the day we are going to celebrate. Swirling candy, love, snow, skiing, friendship...a grand finale! Thanks, Toby!
